United Nations Human Rights Council will address vulture funds' actions

Press release by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Worship

The Advisory Committee of the United Nations Human Rights Council, body of experts on human rights from all geographic regions, unanimously approved yesterday, at its regular meeting held in Geneva, a decision in which it denounced that "in August 2014, Argentina had been the object of an attack by speculators called vulture funds" and noted that "those vulture funds violate the peopleĀ“s rights to development as well as the economic and social rights of the citizens of the concerned countries."

The Advisory Committee recommended the Human Rights Council to conduct "a thorough investigation about the activities of the vulture funds."
